Old Men (and Women) Who Get Fat in Winter – NOT US

Winter is a great time to rekindle your motivation to be active in Montana – no kidding.  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to freshen up your exercise routine.  How?  Lots of ways.

Road bikers who don’t like frozen fingers, toes and other body parts ride the many fine spin classes found in our area gyms.  Better yet, set up your trainer in front of your computer monitor and YouTube “great moments in bicycle racing” or “nfl week 14 highlights”.  Jump off and do sets of calisthenics and free weights to mix up your routine.
Hardcore MTB riders shift to fatter tires and ride our area’s single track all year long.  Silver Crest snowmobile trails are open to bicycling all year and are terrific fat tire paths into the heart of the Little Belts.
Put on your skis and enjoy Showdown Ski Area (this Friday is opening day) or Silver Crest Trails Cross-country Ski Area.  Those who enjoy skiing know that our local areas are among the best in Montana.  Skiing will certainly freshen up your routine.
Swimming!  Train your body to make do with less Oxygen!  Be sure to take a last swim in the Natatorium before our City Management closes it for good.  Schedule here.  Last Swim Party at the Nat anyone?  The Peak and GTFalls High pools will still be an option.
Running!  Not you – say my knees…..  Wednesday night running group is hopping.  Find a running group here.
Savor this cold weather while you can!
