This traditional Great Falls favorite route can be ridden as a long loop, a downhill shuttle, or an out and back from the north end. The trail fords Belt Creek so don’t ride this when the water is high.
I’m the Scoutmaster for Troop 14 in Great Falls. We are working on the hiking Merit Badge and need to get in a 20 mile hike as one of the requirements. Do you know the mileage of the Pilgrim Creek Trail? It looks to be about 13 miles with another possible 6-7 out to the highway. Also would we be able to hike it in a day? Our 20 miles cannot include an overnight stop. My Scouts are all older cross country runners or soccer players so they are in good shape.
Thanks,
Gene Cantley
Hi Gene, Seems like a good choice for a hike. I’m not sure about the length. Suggest you contact the USFS belt Creek Ranger Station, 236-5511, for more details. Good luck!
